It was around 3:54 am CET (2:54 UTC) and I felt horizontal movements like being on a swing or a rocking chair. Then I felt a second wave which felt stronger and that's when the windows started rattling. The event must've lasted over ten seconds, thus it felt rather long for an earthquake. I received a couple of phone calls from worried family members who were awaken by the tremor. Being on the first floor with the balcony door open I was surprised not to have heard the usual rumble from outside, nor the scary vertical vibrations typical for local earthquakes. That made me realize it was a stronger earthquake coming from afar.0
